Cheshire and Merseyside Provider Collaborative (CMPC)

The Cheshire and Merseyside Provider Collaborative (CMPC), brings together to collaboratives previously known as the Cheshire and Merseyside Acute and Specialist Trust Alliance (CMAST) and the Mental Health, Learning Disability and Community Provider Collaborative (MHLDC), with the aim of creating a shared opportunity for provider engagement, improvement and transformation across the health and care system.

The CMPC will focus on aligning in-hospital and out-of-hospital services to improve patient care and ensure these services are more streamlined and efficient. This will support the Government’s guidance to shift activity out of hospitals to be delivered closer to home and in the community, recognising the interdependence between acute and community services.

Key principles of the CMPC include:

  • A holistic and single approach to provider collaboration in C&M
  • Support engagement from every organisation
  • To create simple, efficient and cost-effective solutions and maintain an appropriate level of governance
  • Support the integration of health and care services while recognising the interdependence between acute and community sectors.
  • Be cognisant of the role of our partners across community health, social care and local authority.

The CMPC will have a focus on finding opportunities for more efficiency, removing unwarranted variation and embedding standardised ways of working where appropriate, as well as working to ensure that those in greatest need have access to quality health and care services.

News and updates from the CMPC will be added to this page as this work progresses. In the meantime, previous updates from the CMAST and MHLDC provider collaboratives can be found below.
