Safeguarding

Safeguarding of children and adults at risk is everyone's responsibility. The information in this section includes guides on what to do and who to contact if you are worried that a child or adult at risk is being abused or is at risk of harm.

NHS Cheshire and Merseyside - an integrated care board - is a statutory organisation which brings together the local NHS and is responsible for the commissioning of healthcare services across the region.

On 1 July 2022, statutory responsibilities previously held by the region's clinical commissioning groups regarding safeguarding children, safeguarding adults at risk, child death and children in care were transferred to NHS Cheshire and Merseyside.

NHS Cheshire and Merseyside strive to ensure that all the services we commission have robust safeguarding arrangements in place to safeguard and promote the welfare of children, young people and adults at risk living in our communities.

We aim to be an inclusive organisation firmly placing families at the heart of commissioning and delivery of services. We work in partnership with children, young people, and adults at risk, parents / carers and colleagues in other agencies making sure every person matters.
