Knowsley

Knowsley is home to around 155,000 people across a mix of established towns, suburban communities and rural villages, including Huyton, Kirkby, Prescot, Whiston and Halewood.

Located between Liverpool and St Helens, the borough combines strong transport links and a major employment base with extensive green space and a rich industrial heritage.

While there are affluent communities across the borough, significant health and economic inequalities remain, with deprivation particularly concentrated in parts of Kirkby, Stockbridge Village and North Huyton.

Primary care networks

At local level, health and care services are increasingly being delivered closer to where people live, through neighbourhood teams and partnerships.

Central to this are primary care networks (PCNs), which bring together GP practices and other health and care professionals to provide joined-up services for local communities.
