Cheshire East

Cheshire East is home to more than 425,000 people, across a diverse mix of market towns, villages and rural communities, including Crewe, Macclesfield, Congleton, Wilmslow, Nantwich, Sandbach and Knutsford.

The area combines a strong industrial heritage with a diverse modern economy, extensive green spaces and close links to the Peak District.

Health and wellbeing vary across Cheshire East, with pockets of significant deprivation alongside some of the most affluent communities in the region.

 

Primary care networks

At local level, health and care services are increasingly being delivered closer to where people live, through neighbourhood teams and partnerships.

Central to this are primary care networks (PCNs), which bring together GP practices and other health and care professionals to provide joined-up services for local communities.
