Cheshire West

Cheshire West and Chester is home to around 374,000 people, with a diverse mix of urban, rural and coastal communities.

It includes the historic city of Chester, alongside towns including Ellesmere Port, Northwich, Winsford, Neston and Frodsham, with around a quarter of residents living in rural areas.

The area is generally considered to be affluent, but this masks significant inequalities, with pockets of deprivation concentrated in some of its urban communities.

 

Primary care networks

At local level, health and care services are increasingly being delivered closer to where people live, through neighbourhood teams and partnerships.

Central to this are primary care networks (PCNs), which bring together GP practices and other health and care professionals to provide joined-up services for local communities.
