Palliative care community pharmacy stock holding
Effective from 1 April 2026, a new service has been commissioned to maintain essential palliative care medicines across Cheshire and Merseyside.
The stock holdings listed below apply to all participating sites. This standardised approach has been developed collaboratively with the palliative care network to reduce unwarranted variation.
Please be aware that certain sites previously offering this service may no longer participate, while additional new sites have joined the scheme.
Kindly remove any outdated stock lists or printed materials regarding stock holding sites to prevent access issues. Patients should be referred to the information provided on this webpage as the primary source for locating their nearest or currently open pharmacy holding stock.
Occasionally, pharmacies may experience depleted stock due to previous supplies and may require time before new orders can be placed. It is advisable to confirm stock availability with the pharmacy, even if it is listed as providing the service, prior to issuing a prescription.
