Free service supports people with visual impairment in Cheshire

With the support of the Local Eye Health Network (LEHN) and with funding from the National Lottery, Vision Support has launched the Cheshire Sight Loss Information Line.

The Information Line is a free service which works throughout Cheshire to help people with a vision impairment by providing them with support and guidance through bespoke information packs, signposting to relevant services and organisation that can help. A dedicated team of staff are waiting for your calls ensuring that you are getting the information you want when you are ready.

How does this improve services for patients?

The key to improving the lives of patients who have experienced sight loss is through empowerment. The charity recognises that some services in the healthcare and social care system can be difficult to navigate – particularly if you have experienced sight loss. Vision Support’s telephone service is there to help patients access these services. The charity also organises activities for patients to help improve their mental health and general wellbeing and offers advice about transport, benefits, employment, education, technology, rehabilitation and much more.

Vision Support are actively seeking to increase the number of people they are supporting. They have a team of people, waiting for your call so that they can give you the information you need when you need it.

The Information Line is open 9am-5pm Monday to Thursday and 9am-4.30pm on a Friday.
