What is a Citizens' Panel?

A Citizens' Panel is an online group made up of local residents from Cheshire and Merseyside who’ve agreed to give their views on a number of health and care topics throughout the year.

What's in it for me?

You will be helping to ensure we provide better quality care in a way that matters the most to Cheshire and Merseyside residents. You will have the opportunity to have your views heard by local healthcare decision makers, and you will find out about new plans and ideas for Cheshire and Merseyside health and care.

What will Citizens' Panel members do?

By signing up to take part, you will be asked to complete no more than 4 surveys a year, focusing on things like hospitals, GP services, care services and much more. The questionnaires can be electronic or on paper, or completed over the phone - citizens panel members will be asked their preferences when they join the panel.

Why have I been invited to join?

We need residents to regularly share their views and ideas on a wide range of issues and we want to reflect the population of the region in terms of age, ethnicity, sex, location and other demographics. We, therefore, asked an independent market research company (Influential Agency) to recruit members to the Citizens’ Panel on our behalf to ensure that the Panel is broadly representative of the people who live here.

What topics does the Panel consider?

Hospitals, GP services, care services and much more.

Will my data be kept confidential?

Yes, all personal information is kept confidential. The personal information collected during recruitment will solely be used for the purpose of citizens panel administration and our Privacy Notice explains what we do with your information, how long we keep it and your right to withdraw your consent and leave the Panel at any time you choose.

What happens with survey responses?

Citizens’ Panel members will get feedback about any surveys or other engagement activities that they take part in, and also about what impact or influence their participation has had. After each survey we will produce a report detailing the results.

Who can apply?

Anyone living in Cheshire and Merseyside.
