Councillor Paul Cummins

Councillor Paul Cummins is Sefton Council’s Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care and Political Lead for Health Integration and Health Inequalities for the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority.

He has responsibility for a budget of more than £90m which pays for the assessment of needs and provision of care services for older people who are physically or mentally frail, adults with learning disabilities, adults with physical disabilities, adults with mental health problems and the carers of all these groups.

He also oversees cross-cutting issues such as the safeguarding of vulnerable adults, the deprivation of liberty safeguards and personalisation. Paul is both a Mental Health Champion and Older People’s Champion. He is the Chair of the Liverpool City Region Health and Wellbeing Portfolio Holders Group, Dementia Friendly Sefton and attends Sefton Partnership for Older Citizens. 

In addition to his local authority roles Paul is a charity Trustee and Director of Sefton Council for Voluntary Service.
